Quest Consultants LLC completed delivery of an innovative web application security training course using live USB key technology to bring a full Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP (LAMP) architecture to 20 students simultaneously.

This unique training approach provides each student with an independent and fully operational web application to use throughout the training session. Each exerecise is demonstrated, discussed, and practiced by each student to insure rapid and accurate retention of the material.

The training material focused on common web application security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies. The students, primarily software developers, were able to rapidly recognize the vulnerabilities, determine how they had occurred, and design strategies to work around the problems in the future. At the culmination of the class several students were able to devise new ways to exploit the vulnerable application, showing that not only had they understood the lessons, they also understood the fundamental security concepts at play.
